The UK's very first Marketing department, Lancaster University Management School or LUMS, is ranked in the top five in the Complete University Guide for the past four years. The most important component of my education at Lancaster University was the emphasis on "real-world" company problems. The curriculum focused on three key areas of research; consumebehaviorur, business marketing, and market studies. This developmental journey empowered the kind of skills and knowledge needed to become an effective (and reflective) marketing practitioner. I learned what firms can do to uncover new and emerging consumer practices that may offer the potential for creating new markets.
